Inform Planning led the development of the functional program for the BC Children's Complex Care Transition Centre. Work included both the Concept Plan and Business Plan submittals to the Ministry of Health. The project involved visioning for a "first-of-its-kind" care centre for complex pediatric patients and their families in Western Canada.

The Functional Program included a dynamic entrance accommodating a range of sensory experiences, consult and counselling care spaces, highly flexible therapeutic environments and a care-by-parent short-stay unit for families transitioning from acute care to home.

The project included a full review and re-envisioning of clinical services and space for the hospital. The functional program included 282 new medical / surgical inpatient beds, a new perioperative services environment including 5 ORs  and recovery area, emergency department, and a full ambulatory care platform, along with modernized clinical and non-clinical support services facilities.

Inform Planning provided Clinical Service Planning and Functional Programming for the Acute Care Tower at Richmond Hospital and enabling projects at Richmond Hospital. The Functional Program included 216 new medical/surgical inpatient beds, a new perioperative services component including 10 new ORs and one hybrid OR, 8 procedure rooms and a modernized medical device reprocessing department.

This complex project included supporting work for the business plan and working closely with the architect to inform the indicative design.

Inform Planning led the development of a functional program as prime consultant for the City of Vancouver's new East Fraser Land Community Centre. This +/-35,000ft2 community centre will be built in the new East Fraser Lands district at the Fraser River and will include a licensed daycare and afterschool programming. Project Management of the functional program included coordination of subconsultants including Mechanical/Electrical and Civic Engineering, Landscape, Interior Design, Acoustic and Architectural. Stakeholder engagement with a team of the City's subject matter experts in operations, accessibility, urban planning, childcare, facilities, food security and youth programs, provided a solid foundation from which to develop the functional program.

In 2019, Inform Planning prepared a functional program for the Ministry of Citizen’s Services, Emergency Management BC (EMBC) for a centralized post disaster facility that could function as a catastrophic emergency response and recovery centre, a Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre and a Provincial Regional Emergency Operations Centre. 

The building, which would also accommodate EMBC's offices and hotel workspaces for Government employees year-round, will enable EMBC to continue operations in the immediate, sustained response and recovery phases following a catastrophic emergency.

The District of Tofino, Clayoquot Biosphere Trust (CBT) and the Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) explored the feasibility of developing a mixed-use building in Tofino. Inform Planning prepared a functional program for this innovative and unique facility, to be located in the heart of the community, which would encompass a new home for VIRL’s Tofino Branch and the Biosphere Centre, CBT’s offices, bookable space and archives.

In the spring and summer of 2019, Inform Planning performed space planning for the University of British Columbia’s Integrated Health and Wellbeing Services, Point Grey Campus. Health and Wellbeing is currently in the process of advancing an integrated health care model for students at UBC. Inform’s planning for UBC’s future Integrated Health & Wellbeing Services provides a preliminary understanding of the spatial requirements of the activities that would take place at the future Centre. Two options were developed for UBC: an option that consolidated services in one location, and a second option that focused Mental Health services in one location with Primary Care and Specialty Services in a second location.
