Junior Planner / Marketing Coordinator (Part-time) | Location: British Columbia, Canada



Reporting to Principal Facilities Planners, the Project Coordinator provides project support for functional programming and facility planning projects. Responsible primarily for communications support, administrative tasks, assisting Principal Facilities Planners with planning projects, formatting documents and using graphic software programs as required.



  • Proactively builds, develops, maintains and manages communications and graphics material for projects as well as for firm in general;

  • Participates in planning and project management initiatives;

  • Assists with the preparation and coordination of materials, meetings and events to support projects

  • Assists with the coordination of external/project multidisciplinary teams (subconsultants, engineers, architects, interior designers, planners, facility managers etc.) to achieve project objectives

  • Prepares minutes at internal and external meetings with Principals, stakeholders, consultants and clients and ensures review and distribution processes are fulfilled

  • Conducts analysis and supports the preparation of progress reports for projects as required

  • Prepares and administers technical documentation, including Request for Proposals (RFPs) and associated procurement documents

  • Supports communications strategies through preparing written and visual content for print media and social media platforms

  • Research and reports on industry trends, regulatory context and relevant policies

  • Coordinates scheduling of online and in person project meetings, and ensures meeting details are confirmed and circulated as necessary



  • Post-secondary education, college degree, business or technical diploma or sufficient equivalent work experience in one of the following fields:

    • Urban Planning/ City Planning

    • Architecture/ Interior Design / Environmental Design

    • Engineering/ Sustainability/ Resource Management



  • Sound knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and techniques in the areas of strategic communications

  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills

  • Discretion and diplomacy in dealing with stakeholders

  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation

  • Experience in client relations, customer service and basic public relations is an asset

  • Experience with public engagement/participatory planning/communications is an asset

  • Project Management experience is an asset

  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint is required

  • Knowledge of graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Illustrator, InDesign), AutoCAD or equivalent is required


  • Inform Planning anticipates that this will be a 24-32 hour/week position but is open to negotiating time commitment with the right candidate.

  • Compensation will be competitive with Junior Planning positions in British Columbia.

  • Inform Planning is based in Vancouver and Victoria, BC but is open to remote work.
